Statistical analysis methods developed for the study of Thermodynamics, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Mechanics in Physics are finding much broader applications in data analysis. Here these applications are discussed. Topics include simulation, theory and example problem solutions.

Troy has had an interest in Statistical Physics since he learned of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution as an undergraduate. He went on to obtain a Ph.D. specializing in Fluid Turbulence theory. After receiving his degree he spent several years in academia working on Computational Fluid Mechanics. During this period the Internet developed capturing his interest leading to a career in software development. His interest in Statistical Physics has continued resulting in this site.
